Rehoboth Ranch

On Friday, Matt, Sam, Anna and I went on a field trip to Rehoboth Ranch, a family run farm about 40 miles east of Dallas. The ranch raises clean beef, goats, chicken and pigs that forages from pastures untainted by pesticides, herbicides, and artificial fertilizers. They do not give their animals synthetic hormone and steroid drugs that others use to make them grow unnaturally fast. Anna milked a goat. We all tasted fresh goat milk. It was very good. We walked in a field of goats. We collected eggs from the chicken coop, and ate the next morning for breakfast. We learned the eggs we get from the store are usually 4 to 6 months old. We walked out to pastures to view the cows,dodging cow patties all the way. Lastly, we visited some very large, very pregnant pigs. It was a very enjoyable trip. David was unable to join us because he had school on Friday, and he had his achievement testing on Friday.
